Installation and use of vehicle GPS locator

The vehicle tracking equipment purchased needs to be correctly installed and activated before it can be used normally. Eelink Communication Technology Co., Ltd. will introduce you to the installation steps before using the car GPS tracker.

1. Identify the line of the car GPS locator

Check whether the required positioning terminal accessories and wiring tools are complete. In the simple GPS locator, only 3 wires need to be connected.GPS locator red wire-car power positive; GPS locator black wire-car power negative; GPS locator white wire-car ACC/key wire.

2. Install a SIM card for the car GPS tracker

The SIM card plays an important role in the GPS positioning system. The GPS locator is responsible for collecting the longitude and latitude data of the terminal, and transmits the positioning data to the designated background in the form of GPRS through the GSM network of the SIM card, and finally forms a positioning monitoring system. Please make sure that the GPS positioning terminal inserts the SIM card when it is not powered on, otherwise it is easy to burn the card. After the SIM is installed, please turn on the standby power switch and make sure that the SIM will not loosen firmly.

3. Connect the car GPS locator cable

After installing the card, go back to the first step. Install the wires of various colors and connect them well to ensure that the joints are not loose and water-proof. Please use the standard car circuit wiring method to connect during the wiring process. If the wiring is not handled well, on the one hand, it is easy to make the GPS locator power off and unable to work, and there is also a certain hidden danger of short circuit and fire. The end of the thread should be protected with a heat shrinkable tube to ensure that it is not easy to fall off and do not enter water. Then bundle it with waterproof electric tape and bundle it with the original car line.

4. Car GPS locator terminal is fixed

The GPS tracker is small in size and easy to install concealedly. The common fixed position is to remove the front baffle of the main driver/passenger driver and install it in its internal space. On the one hand, it can ensure that the GPS antenna can receive satellite signals normally, and it can also ensure that water does not easily enter the vehicle and cause the terminal to burn when washing the car.

Precautions:

(1) GPS antenna signals are easily shielded by concrete and metal materials, but plastic, human body, cloth, etc. have no effect. Make sure that there is no metal obstruction above the signal receiving surface, and make sure that the receiving surface faces upward toward the sky. Use Velcro or plastic ties to fix it and lay it flat so that it will not fall off during long-term use.

(2) When the GPS locator is fixed, there is no distinction between positive and negative. The terminal can be fixed tightly with Velcro and cable ties to ensure that it will not fall and there will be no abnormal noise in the environment of long-term vehicle bumps and alternating cold and heat.

5. Activate the car GPS tracker

After all the above steps are completed, restore the vehicle. Then the license plate number, terminal ID, SIM card number and other information are given to the customer service staff for activation, so the vehicle can be located and managed on the computer, mobile phone, and WeChat. Since then, the vehicle tracking device has been set successfully.
